Hikari-Utsuri Nishikigoi with a whole body glittering.

Hikari Utsuri is a type of Nishikigoi with inked scales and shiny scales all over the body.

hikariutsuri

Hikari Utsuri is a general term for a variety of Nishikigoi in which the scales of the entire body shine brightly.

A Nishikigoi with a black pattern is called Hikari Utsuri.

Among the Hikari Utsuri, there is the Showa Sanke Hikari-tsuri and the Shirotsuri Hikari Utsuri.

Hikari Utsuri is the most brilliant of all Nishikigoi.

This is a Nishikigoi that has a strong brilliance, just like the golden and platinum varieties of Nishikigoi.

The white ground shines like a platinum Nishikigoi.

The red scales also have a glow and feel brighter.

Reds, such as red and white, are heavy reds or vermilion, but in the case of photomontage, they are characterized by a slightly orangey red.

The black part also looks a little gray due to the shine.

You can read more about platinum in “Golden platinum, a full-bodied Nishikigoi that can be enjoyed even in a sparkling aquarium“.

What is a high quality hikariutsuri?

If it is a Showa Sanke, such as Kinshowa, the evaluation method is the same as the Showa Sanke.
Koi that have a good overall balance and hiban of black, white, and red are highly rated.

Also, if the black color is darker and the pectoral fins have a black face, it is more likely that the black will appear more clearly in the future.

The blackless hikariutsuri is a breed of Nishikigoi called hikarimoyou.

Some varieties, like red and white, have no black Nishikigoi.

The variety that has a luster in such Nishikigoi is called Hikari-mono.

It has the same name as Kinshowa, and the red and white shiny pattern is called “Sakura Ogon”.

It is also called “Yamato Nishiki” in the case of the Taisho Sanke shimmering pattern and is popular all over the world.
